Casey Wasserman said Thursday he has not considered leaving his role as chair of LA28, four months after emails with Ghislaine Maxwell brought calls for his resignation from some local politicians and figures connected to his agency. He said he continues to speak with Mayor Karen Bass often about delivering the 2028 Games.

The LA28 executive committee has backed Wasserman, and International Olympic Committee officials in Los Angeles this week praised the organizing team. LA28 has reached $2 billion in sponsorship and licensing deals toward a $2.5 billion goal, with more than 4 million tickets sold in the first release and another ticket drop planned for August.
