Pasadena police received a late morning call Friday about a mountain lion in the front yard of an apartment complex near Del Mar Boulevard and Euclid Avenue. The sighting prompted temporary shelter in place warnings in the immediate area, near an elementary school, a middle school and a busy graduation ceremony.

State wildlife officials later captured the animal and identified it as a young healthy male. City and wildlife officials called the incident unusual, especially because the cat appears to have crossed the 210 Freeway without injury.
