Food and beverage workers at SoFi Stadium voted 96 percent in favor of authorizing a strike, raising the possibility of picket lines before the venue hosts the U.S. men's national team against Paraguay on June 12. The workers include cooks, dishwashers, concession employees and bartenders represented by Unite Here Local 11.

The union is seeking higher pay, limits on subcontracting and automation related job loss, and protections tied to worker accreditation data and possible immigration enforcement at the stadium. Legends Global said it expects a contract can be finished in time and has a backup staffing plan for World Cup operations.
