A routine transfer from an onsite stormwater and condensation tank at GKN Aerospace overflowed, sending about 50 gallons of water into a storm drain in Garden Grove. Officials collected part of the spill and are testing it for methyl methacrylate, the chemical involved in the late May emergency that led to evacuations across several Orange County cities.

Health officials said the chance of finding the chemical in the water appears low. A planned transfer of neutralized material from the facility was delayed and will be rescheduled, with officials warning nearby residents they may notice a fruit or plastic like smell during that process.
